002/06	Project Administrator	Gauteng	Metago has a vacancy for a Project Administrator based in Johannesburg. The Project Administrator will be accountable for the successful administration of a variety of projects resulting from Metago’s contracted business with clients in primarily the mining sector. The Project Administrator will work in close partnership with the Engineers, Scientists as well as the Metago financial and administration support teams to ensure that Metago’s contracts objectives are achieved in conjunction with the needs of the client. The successful candidates will assist project managers to ensure that individual projects within the company are appropriately planned according to internal procedures and conducted within budget, on time and according to brief.1 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Administration of consulting projects including: • Assisting with development of project resource and budgetary requirements; • Assisting with development of project proposals / tender requirements; • Logging and tracking of proposals and service level agreements; • Financial reporting and project cost control in compliance with Metago’s financial systems and contract management systems; • Assisting project teams to achieve agreed deliverables, ensuring compliance with agreed quality standards as Metago is ISO 9000/2000 certified; and • Engaging as required in client/stakeholder interactions to the benefit of the overall project targets including the accurate recording of minutes. 2 QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • A tertiary qualification preferably in an engineering (e.g. Btech) or scientific discipline, supplemented by relevant experience; • A knowledge of accountancy, financial and/or management environments, typically achieved through a formal business or financial qualification, or relevant experience, as well as a sound understanding of the business of Engineering pertaining to the Mining environment; • Previous experience in project administration and/or financial support to consulting engineering sector; • Appropriate knowledge and experience in tendering and proposal preparation and submission; • Proven communication and administration abilities and the ability to interact with clients and service providers; and • The ability to liase with individuals at all levels of seniority, both within Metago and with the company’s client and supplier base. Knowledge of project management, people management, planning skills, cost control and leadership skills is required, typically achieved through on-the job or in-house training programmes. Must have proven communication skills (both written and oral), sound technical knowledge and practical ability in order to manage by example. 3 SPECIAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: The following competencies are critical for this position: tolerance for stress, decisiveness, integrity, good verbal and written English skills and the ability to take accurate minutes. The person has to be able to prioritise tasks and to able to handle multiple project managers and projects and deadlines. Must be delivery oriented and task focused.
